GM Screen Pro is a shareware SuperCard standalone application designed as a tabletop role-playing game referee's toolkit, intended by its author to be the best general RPG aid software available. It was created by Dr. Michael C. LaBossiere of Opifex Phoenix, who wrote over thirty professionally published adventures and game-related products.
What it does
The program serves as a front end for a variety of expansion modules, including adventures and gameplay enhancements. A game master can keep notes, drop in maps, roll dice, and import prepared text without leaving the application during a session.
Features
The 1.x release includes modular expandability, on-screen dice pads and dice strips, graphic tools, multimedia support, time records, a text loader and import system, electronic notepads, and an online help system. Version 1.1 added monitor bit-depth controls, internal memory management, additional dice strips, backdrop options, and assorted bug fixes.
Distribution
The package is distributed via the Info-Mac archive as info-mac/game/adv/gm-screen-pro-11.hqx and on Macintosh Garden under the apps section. It is shareware: registration is encouraged for continued use.
System
GM Screen Pro targets classic Mac OS and depends on SuperCard's standalone runtime that ships with the application. The header does not specify a minimum System version, but the Macintosh Garden listing indicates compatibility through System 7 and later.
