Iterated Function Systems IFS Version 1.0.4
An iterated function system is a kind of dynamical system that often has a fractal attractor. One of the simplest is called the "Chaos game" and gives rise to the "Sierpinski triangle." The application IFS allows you to draw the fractal attractors for any iterated function system where the mappings are affine. It allows you to select a transformation using the mouse and zoom in to the fractal to see any level of detail desired. Iterated function systems are used by Hollywood to draw fractal landscapes, and have been proposed as an effective image compression scheme.

IFS requires a PowerPC Macintosh running MacOS 8.1 or greater. It also requires the openGL library, which is freely available from apple from the URL .
