Is Nic Robertson insane?
Going to places even Christiane Amanpour isn't willing to go to, is Nic Robertson brave or simply insane?

where is he going?
Currently he's in Jordan because the Iraqi government kicked CNN's Baghdad bureau out of the country (again).
My point is this: several times, Nic Robertson has been the only Western journalist on Earth to report from a dangerous part of the world. Is he brave or insane for doing this?

I think a little of both.
He knows that reporters who bring the big story like that get famous... that's what he wants. Then get a nice job at a news desk.
He's doing this so he becomes a household name.

I think you seem to know an awful lot about his motivations....are you him?
I know a lot of reporters personally who have been in dangerous situations, the way you have characterized them is a bit unfair for the most part.
Incidentally:
Michael Kelly, 46, the Atlantic Monthly editor-at-large and Washington Post columnist who abandoned the safety of editorial offices to cover the war in Iraq, has been killed in a Humvee accident while traveling with the Army's 3rd Infantry Division.
