Why does CNN have a Baghdad bureau?

It gets kicked out of it several times a year by the Iraqi government. What's the point in having one if you can't use it?
To compete with the other media.
They've had a Baghdad office for ages. In times of peace its actually staffed.

Even then, the Iraqi government kicked CNN out several times a year. Truly, wouldn't CNN be better off using its resources for something else?
CNN's reason for existance is the get news on tv as-it-happens, surely.

Where is all the big news coming from right now?

I wouldn't know... I watch FOX News... CNN, bleh.
