Online Poker for Mac
Okay there are sites such as partypoker, pokerroom, etc. that all have downloadable software but are never supported for Mac.
Anybody know any sites that have software for Mac?
And no, I don't want no ******** shareware poker for Mac that has no online play or affiliated with any poker sites.

victorias poker, can't remember the exact site name, it is pretty bad, but it does run on the mac.
I play party poker using Virtual PC 6. If you turn off the card animations it plays just fine. Everyone once and awhile it will freeze, but its not that big of a deal. I play $10 buy in no limit hold em' tournaments, Im up around $250.
You can use the Yahoo game rooms, which has Poker. Works alright too, but the raises are a bit stingy.
Pokerroom.com has a "light" java version that runs on mac.
Says so right on the front page.

I just upgraded from windows 98SE to windows 2000, and party poker plays AMAZINGLY well now, just as good as it does on a PC. I'm also now up around $700. I've got my sights set on a 23inch cinema display...
If I could only get XP installed with QEMU on my G5, I can save up for a 30" and card. Just cannot get DOS to boot and install a Win CD image.
AAny place that has a VPC 4 XP win image file? I know that'll just work without having to install. I've got a legal CD, just can't install it.

Well, while I'm very skeptical one can get anywhere with online gambling, I'm cautiously interested. I'm going to see what Mac-compatible sites I can find:
Here's a special page casinoranking.com created, listing Mac-compatible sites - it includes links to seven sites.

I was skeptical at first, and only bought in to take advantage of all those online casino promos that they always have. I started off playing very low limit games until I got the feel for things. I am now playing $20 buy in no limit texas hold em games, where 10 people put up $20, first takes $100, second takes $60, third takes $40, everyone else gets nada. There are a TON of "newb" players who don't have very much skill, and I am finding that I can consistently place in the top 3. Of course you always have a few off games, but it balances out. I would not trust my real money on a flash game though...The main casino sites are partypoker.com, empirepoker.com, pokerstars.com, and a few others. Basically, not of the popular established sites offer mac clients. Just a few minutes ago I played 2 games at once, got first at one table and second at the other, not bad to make $160 in about 40 minutes.
If you have a Mac, you probably know the frustration of trying to play poker online. Most sites require downloads that you use on a PC, so if you don't have Virtual PC on your Mac - you're out of luck (which is not the way you want to start out).

Check out the above link for Mac's, it will direct you through to PokerRoom.com - it is most definitely the place to play if you have a Mac.

I play on Pokerroom.com using Safari. They have a D/L version, but for windows only, so I stick to the Java version. Running a Quicksilver Dual 800, OSX 10.3.8.
Pokerroom......
First I never play for real $$, only fake.
Second, and the main reason I play for fake money on pokerroom.....
Playing hold 'em, I was dealt a Queen of Clubs and some other crappy card, I folded pre-flop.. On the flop, (same hand mind you) a queen of clubs came up. Hmmm.....
Not sure about the game engine they use, but sketchy!

Pokerroom.com is my choice for online Poker.
We should try to setup a MacNN only poker game. Anyone interested in doing this?
My player name is 'Dead Cards'

I'm inclined to believe you misremembered your hole cards. I've played thousands of hands for real money on pokerroom and never seen anything like that.

You can. The key is that you play poker against the other players, not against the casino directly. The house takes a cut of every pot so if you're an exactly average player you'll still lose, but if you play sufficiently better than average (not hard to do at the lower levels) you'll come out ahead in the long term.
No, I recorded the hand # and reported it to them, they thanked me for finding a "Bug in the Play Money Version of the game" and said they would try and fix it.
It did happen, and I did not miss-read my hole cards. Needless to say, after that I'm a little sketched about playing for real $$ online. Besides the game engine issues, it's easy for groups of people to team up at online tables and shakedown newbs.
Regardless, I prefer to play people in person anyway, pokerroom is a fun distraction at work tho.

My apologies; I stand corrected. I certainly hope they fixed it and investigated the real money games for similar problems.
I most certainly hope they do as well. But like you said, the odds of it happening are probably so slim they most likely just ignored it, I'm willing to bet (pun intended) that the play money and real money version of the game are the same engine though.
I've quit pokerroom.com because it just didn't 'feel' right. I was up by a lot but I kept seeing some strange goings on (which I also reported) I now use VP7 to play partypoker or ultimatebet and it works fine.
