I love how back then it was called, "The Microsoft Office"...I think the "The" was dropped in version 4, by 97/98 it was definitely just "Microsoft Office".
"The" was definitely gone in the version with Word 6.
I think you definitely got the best compilation with that version of Office. I think we can all agree Word 5.1 is the best version of the program. I do like Excel 3.0 for its superior performance on 68000-based Macs but I do feel 4.0 is a better program overall. (Ideally, Excel 2.2 would have a few more features, namely with formatting--for speed, it's my favorite on the old compacts).
Slomacuser, if you try PowerPoint 3.0 on a compact, let us know how it performs! I have 4.0 and something older (I think 2.0?--it's got the same floppy label style as Word 4). The old version is lacking in features. I could use 4.0 to make a decent looking presentation by today's standards.
