Sorry is that has been asked before, can't get search to work...
In 10.2 the default method of sending smb passwords is to encrypt them. This is all fine and dandy if you are talking to a PC (default encrypted) or UNIX box with SAMBA that usually talk to PC's (default encrypted).
However, the institute where I work at has faith in its firewall and has a policy of using unencrypted passwords. How can I tell 10.2 to use unencrypted passwords?
There is the SMABA configuration file /etc/smb.comf but I don't want to mess with this too much. Have only set up SMABA on IRIX and there I used the browser interface to SWAT, can I do that on 10.2?
OK, well if you just change the line in [global] to encrypt passwords = no it seams to work!
