Hi,
does anyone know where to find the Appletalk Peek/Poke tools which are mentioned, e.g., in http://basalgangster.macgui.com/RetroMacComputing/The_Long_View/Entries/2012/3/1_AppleTalk.html

What an absolute fascinating article!
I never heard of Peek and Poke for AppleTalk. Would be great if we could discover it!

Success! I found the tools on the January 92 ADC Developer CD in "Tools & Apps (Moof!)/Networking & Communications/AppleTalk Tools/"
I knew it was a good idea to keep the old CDs around...

Would be neat to make .ISOs of all the developer CDs and put them up on an archive.
YES i would love to have them too!
+2
There is already quite a large number of them online, if you know where to look
Here is the Network and Communications map of the CD. It is made as a zip on a Mac OSX machine. I cannot read it.... At my place it stops after System 7.6.
I there someone who can unzip it and make a disk image ( Disk Copy 6.3) or .sit file from it??? Then I can copy it over to my world!

Hopefully that should work for you, it's been compressed as .sit using whatever version of stuffit i have on here (14 i think)

Thanks! I succesfully unstuffed.
I'm afraid it is only source code....no applications.
ApplePeek and Poke seems to be SimpleText files????
But maybe something went wrong?

Possibly the res forks have been stripped somewhere along the lines (probably in the zipping)
I will .sit the files directly from the disk image of the dev cd tomorrow morning and post you a new link

Thanks! You can understand that I'm getting more and more curious!
Right, give this one a try: http://files.max1zzz.co.uk/apps/Networking%20&%20Communications%202.sit
Thats been compressed straight off the disk image so all the apps should be intact

Hm, strange, when I unpack the zip file again, I get the following (on OS X), so it seems the resource forks are intact. The file was generated using Finder on OS X 10.9, which is aware of resource forks as far as I know (in contrast to the zip/unzip command line tools). However, the FinderInfo is missing compared to the stuffit file posted by mac1zzz.
