1GB of shareware and public domain software from 1993
http://www.mediamax.com/tachy0n/Hosted/Educorp1.dmg (277MB)Thank you for purchasing the EDUCORP 8.0 Shareware CD-ROM. This is a two CD-ROM set containing over 1 Gigabyte of public domain and shareware software! The first disk contains all of the System 7.x compatible software
along with a HyperCard browser that will help you locate files, preview clip art, listen to sounds and more. The second disk contains the archived files of older software, demos, Best of Sets, and software that did not work properly under System 7.

Damn, I just realized you can't download them unless you upgrade your account.

What he said. I recommend switching to a different service, preferably one that doesn't remove files after a certain amount of time. And why .dmg files? Maybe you could have a format my Mac OS 9 powered G4 could use?The file you're attempting to access from a free MediaMax account exceeds the single-file limit of 10MB.

It's really annoying that all the Mac shareware single-archive collections other than Jag's Houses' own pub.zip are undownloadable after just a few hours. >
make Torrent files to distribute them... fast & free
I have contacted tachyon about hosting them on my server. he should be uploading them to my private FTP Server at home, then I will upload them to my forum which a link will be posted and they will remain there.
Any word from him yet? I've been dying for a bigger collection of sys. 6 shareware than the one on Jag's House (although that one is very impressive).I have contacted tachyon about hosting them on my server. he should be uploading them to my private FTP Server at home, then I will upload them to my forum which a link will be posted and they will remain there.
I am uploading now. I have about 2 hours till totally uploaded. He will give you a link and you will be able to download [

I am converting them to .sit right now. I had to pull out my lombard to do it, so it might take a while. I am extracting them from the images under OS X and then am going to boot to OS 9 to "stuff" them
I will get them up A.S.A.P. and am actively working on it.

You can download stuffit for the classic OS you know.
How about a .sea version? Then nobody needs any special software to decompress it.I am converting them to .sit right now. I had to pull out my lombard to do it, so it might take a while. I am extracting them from the images under OS X and then am going to boot to OS 9 to "stuff" them![]()

whoa whoa. Don't throw me around in different formats. I need a format that can be served from a windows-based server, and you guys can't run me around on formats. I don't know if I Can do SEA, but I will try
the last thing I can do is an image
which was what I was thinking of. does .img work for downloads?

Uh... I kind of took those down. I will be uploading SEA so please edit those out. For those concerned, the total file size of both SEA archives, it will be a total of around 360 some Megabytes. I had some issues taking it from .dmg and putting them to .sea so I apologize. They should be up in the next hourOK, for those of you with access to OS X as well, download them from

I know, that was just the first format that came to mind.Wha?Can you have these in .zip format? I'm an OS 9 user, so that's the only format I can use.I am uploading now. I have about 2 hours till totally uploaded. He will give you a link and you will be able to download [] ]'>

Second one is up. See my last post.
Although this isn't my preferred method, I would still like to know how to do this. Is there a Mac-centric tutorial somewhere that you know of? Please refrain from using the term "google it" in your answer. [make Torrent files to distribute them... fast & free

If you have the Bittorrent client, I believe it has a button that says "Make a Torrent" or something like that. You probably just select the file.
Uh, could you change them to .sit files? I just remembered that .sea files didn't work if you copied them from a non-OS 9 machine, and I'm downloading them from my OS X powered iBook, my sole internet machine. Sorry... :ISecond one is up. See my last post.
My attempted failed using Safari 3.1. It just showed garbled text and then said Not enough memory. There is 27 gigs free, a sit or dmg file would be better.
Did you try Crtl-click and save as?My attempted failed using Safari 3.1. It just showed garbled text and then said Not enough memory. There is 27 gigs free, a sit or dmg file would be better.
uh... could you guys make up your mind? I can't keep doing this. Pick a format and stick with it.
What would cause a .sea format to not work if copied from a non-os 9 machine. If you guys have OS X, it should be fine.

I downloaded the Educorp .sea files fine with Tiger and Netscape 9. They wouldn't self-extract, but when I dropped them on Stuffit Expander 10.0, that opened them..sea files didn't work if you copied them from a non-OS 9 machine
Just like digging around and finding a bunch of really old floppies, except without the floppies.
Tried Opera and had no problems downloading the files.
I have to agree with you. I don't understand why all these people with all these computers are having such a huge issue with 2 files.uh... could you guys make up your mind? I can't keep doing this. Pick a format and stick with it.

I only recommended using .sea because I thought it would be easier for everyone to have the decompressor built into the file even though it does make the file slightly bigger because the file can be used by anyone even if they don't have the tool that was used to compress the file. I wasn't aware there were compatibility issues with .sea.
does it extract at all?? If it doesn't, i will have to do it again, but if I have to go to another format like .sit, i will stick with it. Beggers can't be choosers
I am not going to put every file format

It actually DOES extract! I changed the filetype and creator to Sit and it works perfectly.does it extract at all?? If it doesn't, i will have to do it again, but if I have to go to another format like .sit, i will stick with it. Beggers can't be choosersI am not going to put every file format

iCab downloaded it as a text file. Anyway, like I said, I got it to work when I changed the format to .situh... could you guys make up your mind? I can't keep doing this. Pick a format and stick with it.
