Intel Macs and Appletalk printers

I have read somewhere that the ability to print from an OSX machine to older Appletalk printers was lost or at least compromised in the switch to Intel. Is this true?

It shouldn't, I think it might just be Leopard.

I was able to print from an Intel Mac mini using 10.4 (Tiger?).

Leopard does indeed work fine. I've got my LaserWriter 320 hooked up to my PowerCenter 132, running OS 8.1 and LocalTalk bridge. All of my Leopard machines are able to print to it.

Though, I haven't had an Intel machine in this house long enough to test it out. I dunno if Intel is the problem, but I don't see why it would be.
