UMAX Pulsar crashing without Virtual Memory OS 8 5 posts Sep 30, 2007 — Oct 2, 2007
I have put all RAM (on board 16 + 2x32 + 3x8 + 2x16 + 64 = 200MB total) that I had into this machine, made a clean install of Mac OS 8.6, it works great. But when I turn "off" the deafult Virtual Memory in memory control panel and restart the machine it crash loading the extensions ... ?

have u reset the pram? or try a new fresh os install

Test your memory. Are you sure none of the DIMMs are bad?

yeh, I put out some ram, now works great ... it is a 604e 200 MHz power beast with 168 RAM running BeOS 5

Be must run nice and quick on the 604e card.

The 604e was one of my favorite CPU's ever. Hella fast and with balls too.
