Allow me to join you OT, only more so. I recently used a 3-position KVM to share a (Bondi) 17-in Studio Display and AppleDesign Keyboard between a 9600/G3/500MHz, a Beige G3 G4/500MHz, and summat else when I have decided. In my case it is the display that is randomly unimpressed by switching between the two that are connected. This keyboard puzzle could be implicated in that, or the switch itself. The ideas are food for further thought, however.
