One might suggest that, if you do not use 5.1 to open docs, that you remove it from your drive. If that is more extreme than you wish to be, there are two other possibilities. First, open the app. first, and then the doc. from within the app., and second, scour the Preferences of '98 to see whether the 5.1 docs can be converted to any special '98 requirements.
