Are you sure both files aren't really the same file, just obtained from two different sources? I don't know where you got them, but many old files like that on the internet all ultimately come from the same original source.

(2) (...)Try Googling - or searching other threads here - for links to Stuffit Expander 5 (or Aladdin Expander 5, as it's also called). It's the last version that will run on 68k Macs, and it is usually able to open all .sit files.

Oops, didn't know the Classic in your sig was your only Mac. That does complicate things. You may be out of luck on this.
