ok wtf... I found my VGA -> Mac adapter.

Hook it up to my MBP - it powers on fine and has audio

Hook it up to my DTV box - no video...

Both are native VGA connections.

According to my LCD I have hooked into the DTV box via VGA it's running at 1024x768...

Is there some sort of sync that the 1710 doesn't like?
