Ok.  I very methodically tried a bunch of jumper options - none of which worked - before reading your messages more carefully.  I'll be waiting on the passthrough terminator, then.  But it is confounding to me why the CD 300 Plus would work when there's also no termination.  It's supplying termination power to the bus but there's no actual termination on the chain - as I understand it.
