Browsing around, I stumbled across: Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5b1 (5501) for MacOS 9!

Even if it was a beta-version I was really wondering about this. While my 5.0 version is from 22. March 2000, the latest update to version 5.1.7 is from juli 2003. But this beta I got is from first of Juli 2000!

Did anyone of you know about this. As we got Opera 6, Netscape 7, Mozilla, and later Wamcom, it would´nt heave been a real advantage back than. And now we got Classilla and iCab - so it´s mainly for curiosity
