I don't think they're all that rare

It's for a Pippin. How many of them do you think exist?

/ETA/ On the other hand, wikipedia says:

Bandai manufactured fewer than 100,000 Pippins (reported sales were 42,000) before discontinuing the system; production was so limited that there were more keyboard and modem accessories produced than actual systems.

which is quite a few more than I thought, and bodes well for finding accessories.
Whether it's worth the asking price though is entirely up to you.
