I doubt that a fuse replacement will do the trick. However, with a little luck, it'll turn out to be some fried resistors in series with the drive transistors. Burned-out motor windings are the worst case, but if the engineers were reasonably thoughtful, a stuck carriage shouldn't result in a fried motor. Let us know what you find when you finally open it up.
