HARDWARE HACKING! [
] ]'> Any illegal "software hacking" shall henceforth be referred to using proper nomenclature: CRACKING! . . . and will not be tolerated! [
] ]'>
Any Linux oriented hardware hacking is OK, even for certain NetBSD derived commercial distributions. However, we won't discuss setting up/modding software for running anything that might disturb the mother ship. There are other places for those discussions, the hardware discussion is fine..
Lets face it, our favorite Beige & Platinum Boxes have Logic Boards that are beginning to fail. What I'd really like to see are some ubuntu oriented hacks to keep as many of those beige and platinum boxes out of the landfills as possible. They can be given new life by transplanting the tiny MoBo form factors and processors available that'll support a current legal, FREE OS, OpenOffice, the GIMP etc.
68k/PPC MacOS-Centric Hacks will be our first priority, but there are PLENTY of other avenues to pursue here!
