hell, i figured that was the first thing you had tried was clean the lens. its an automatic thing for me, i just assume it is for everyone else.

It sucks to take the top off the CD SC. There's a PCB with about a dozen connectors running to it and as you pry the thing apart you have to unplug everything along the way. It's a lot of work that I really didn't want to do.
