As another perk, the MCD uses that standard DB-15 connector.

A word of caution: if you're using an original LC or other earlier Mac, make sure you have 512K VRAM installed to use 256 color mode on the MCD, Apple Hi-Res, or other monitor larger than 12". Otherwise you're stuck with 16 colors.
