Umm... MacIRC does NOT require color. I was using it on my PowerBook 145B. Just to chime in on this. There is a button set that is completely blacked out when trying to connect. you need to click the RIGHT one. that will allow you to connect. It certainly was not designed around B&W Macs, but it will launch and work perfectly well on a black and white mac. Try it again with my suggestions...
