This is perhaps a dumb question, but I need an answer before buying something:
If I install one of the add-on 500-sheet paper trays at the base of a LaserWriter (a 12/640), can I then print the first page from the stock 250-sheet tray and the remainder from the optional 500-sheet tray?
I know this same thing can be done using the multipurpose tray, but it so happens that my multipurpose tray in my 12/640 is deceased. I need the "first page from tray x, remainder from tray y" functionality, but cannot for the life of me find replacement parts for the multipurpose tray. However, a 500-sheet feeder can definitely be had, as can a duplexer.
I need the two-source paper option for letterhead/ letters that run on for more than one page in an office setting. Anyone out there with one of these who can confirm that it will work?
