In the SuperDuo thread, I suggested the notion of a Color Lid Duo as the perfect place to put an iPad 2.
It'll require remapping the KBD Flex circuit's connections to a compatible generic KBD controller and the ADB TrackBall to something useful . . .

Portable iPad Case w/peripherals and plenty of hackspace and backup battery compartment . . .
. . . since you'd be cutting a lid opening anyway, you could use it open w/pad facing in, closed w/pad facing in or out . . .
. . . and a DVD popping in-n-out of the open Docking Port Door would be the bomb! }
With the lid opening, a thinner, dime a dozen, Duo 2xx/B&W Lid w/slightly protruding 'Pad, it would be more sleek in its lines.
