JT - I had no luck, whenever I tried something with Ubuntu.

GParted Live is the one for me, runs almost everywhere, with or without ethernet.

For a full install I still like the old Mandriva2010 release, because all my Eee 1001HA´s devices were supported oob.

Off topic: As a kind of lazy CLI hater, I appreciated SheepShaver, BasiliskII and a lot more being included in Mandriva´s repository too.

No need to tinker with those dreadful compatreadline libraries and other dependencies, usually to be taken care of with GNU.

or Nawcom´s USB version http://www.osx86.net/downloads.php?do=file&id=2015 if you have a running OSX already.
