It's not a peripheral per se, but...

I have an ATI Radeon 9800 (I think) with ADC and DVI ports, and it just suddenly went dead one day.

I was able to get it back once in a while, but it seemed to get worse the more I tried (and now it's dead altogether). It appeared to be acting up more as it warmed up (i.e., it was more likely to work cold than hot).

Could it be a bad solder joint somewhere? It worked perfectly when it worked, so I doubt that any important components are bad.
