Here's the story--I've got a 13" RGB, the later Trinitron model (Macintosh Color Display), which normally displays at 640 x 480. For the most part, this is a good resolution, although when I'm dealing with software intended for compact Macs, it shows in this little window.
For all the bashing the 512 x 384 12" RGB gets, it's excellent for running these programs, as it's not that far off from a compact's resolution (512 x 342). I know there's a way to do it on an LCIII, but I have a Mac IIvx and would love to change the resolution on this display somehow or at least window it so that it only displays 512 x 384.
Yes, I know this isn't a multisync monitor, so I know the solution will have to be done via software, but is there any way to do this? I really don't have the room for another monitor right now (I know the easy fix is to get a 12" RGB for said IIvx) and would like the flexibility to use the higher resolution if need be. I am aware of Stepping Out, which does the opposite (higher resolution on a 12"), but I want to go the other way here.
Any ideas?
