Basilisk II is *not* an accurate copy of the hardware of any real Mac. It requires a Mac ROM, but it patches the snot out of it to make it work in a simulated environment that allows it to perform better than any cycle-accurate emulator would, at the cost of making it a *bad* place to try experimenting with hardware specific software patches.
