Thanks mcd, you're da man! It'll be nice to have a spare, so I can try hacking this one after I play around with replacing one cap at a time

I really am curious if one bad cap can cause a memory failure death chimes, first time, every time?

It will also be interesting to see if it turns out to be memory after they've all been replaced.

Noodling out the Bank and Row address selects for this bad boy has always been on the list of projects.

Correctly done patch wire rerouting of the necessary lines to a two SIMM adapter board might be all the makeover necessary to clean up the act of the old EVIL Memory Hack linked to by Danamania here and over on 'fritter. It involved ribbon cable adaptation and involved the most awful signal degradation and internal RFI conceivable. Dr. Bob immediately pronounced it "the most evil thing he'd ever seen' or something to that effect.

I'll have to search it in both archives to see if that page is still up! }:)

For some reason or other, I've got an iCab document titled: LC475 memory slot addition. I need to get it to someone with an unexpired version of iCab that's up and running. Opening it up to find out if the original page is still up, wayback dipping it or massaging it into a new format and hosting it for this thread, whatever is easiest, would be cool . . .

. . . if not a bit evil, which would make it very 8-)

PM me for a realmail attachment. }:)
