Mac INIT Strings 2.1 Updated 04/17/98
Mac INIT Strings is a shareware utility that displays a list of modem INITialization strings categorized by manufacturer and model. These strings are meant for use with Macintosh computers. Upon registering, Version 2.1 will allow you to do the following:
* Test INITialization strings through your Mac's modem * View string information from Open Transport/PPP/ARA Scripts * View the URL of the modem manufacturer allowing you to launch the URL using an Internet Browser (you MUST have Internet Config 1.4 [or later] installed and configured on your Macintosh in order to launch a URL. Internet Config 1.4 is not included with the Mac INIT Strings Installer. Internet Config can be downloaded from ftp://ftp.share.com/internet-configuration/ ). * Analyze an INITialization string and see what each command means
Mac INIT Strings requires the Apple Serial Tool 1.0.2 which is part of the Apple Communications ToolBox (CTB). The installer will place a copy of the Serial Tool 1.0.2 in your Extensions Folder requiring you to restart your machine after the installation process is complete.
Mac INIT Strings was built with Mac OS 8.1 and is therefore, Mac OS 8.1-compatible. You need System 7.5 (or later) and 4 MB of physical (installed) memory in order to use Mac INIT Strings.
