Another candidate for networking.
At the present, you have five options:
1) Use a Linux box as a Netatalk server, and then use an AFP bridge between that box and the LC.
2) Use a old PC box to run Windows 2000 or 2003 Server. Install SFM and use the AFP bridge.
3) Use Pseudo-PPP dialup, but you'll need a Mac or Linux machine. Or, a VM. I don't know of any way that native Windows allows port forwarding from Ethernet/WiFi to a serial COM port.
4) Use a terminal based file transfer.
5) Rig up Basilisk II or SheepShaver to network out to the LC.
Compared to physical media, networking is like eating warm, properly cooked, home made cookies with milk. Floppy disks are like eating old British Navy "hard tack" "food". It can be done but the difference is polarizing.
But to answer your question, the .sea archive is not ruined. Merely, the type and creator data is lost. Use ResEdit in System 7+ or Finder Info 1.1.1 in System 4.1+ to change the type to "APPL" and the creator to "aust". Stuffit archives don't have resource forks, or not enough to make them damaged by foreign file systems.
