I think there have been discussions about this, and it comes down to Classilla's implementation of SSL being too old.
With enough persistence, I'm sure Classilla could be improved to include a more recent SSL implementation, but I don't know how trivial it is (ClassicHasClass would know, but he no longer seems to partake in these forums).
I hope Clasilla gets modernized with this, as it would probably make it not only more useful, but more secure (not that anybody cares about those of us using OS 9, but whatever....)
