Wow, Macdrone! Six identical posts! I think something went wrong!! :lol:

Anyway, doesn't the Screen control panel serve this purpose? It controls brightness at the very least. It should come standard on any System 7 install meant for a machine that supports it (though one can ask for it manually at install time via the Custom Install option, I think).

The monitor related CSMs, to my understanding, only control basic things like bitdepth and resolution (maybe TV mirroring as well, don't remember).

Of course, in later versions (Mac OS 8 and above I think, maybe System 7.5 as well)), the brightness/contrast controls were rolled into the all-in-one Monitors & Sounds control panel (again, those options are only enabled for machines that support them). I think the Screen cp works on these OSs as well.
