rules for the forum concerning bad ebay sellers
hello people
Just had a bad experience on ebay with a French seller.
won a color classic for 66 euro.....he did not ship it...after 4 days he replies with insults and refunds me my money
-
want to give people the heads up with this guy but want to know the rules of the forum incase posting his name is against the rules.
-
just because the clown did not get what he was hoping for the sale he decides to throw insults and refunds the money. what a %^&%$£

Colour Classic for €66? Sounds nice. Pity he just refunded you. I don't know the forum rules; the wiki is down at the moment. PM Cory5412 and post the result here
ebay reviewed the whole thing, said he was way out of order, but that they could not force him to honour ebay rules and ship it.
They told me to leave the seller bad feedback - so I did - and guess what.....the clown has done the same thing to other people.
-
basically if this 'seller' does not get the price he wants, he wont ship, wont respond to any messages, waits, waits, then throws a sissy fit, hurls abuse and cancels the transaction

So between purchase and him throwing a fit, how many days?
Seller won't have an account for very long by the sound of it.
Basically it boils down to: we don't name buyers or enough specifics to identify a particular sale or the seller. You've probably gone that far already, expect padlock.

WHY?
I believe that in France there is a rule about honoring their business deals which leads to fraud. If you can get the idiot's email address, you can contact the French authorities on his ass. And remind Ebay that they have to do the same. No doubt that this idiot has done the same to others and needs to get his account deleted.
Because there are two sides to every story.
4 days unity. I was chatting with ebay about it, its their live chat thingy, and the guy I spoke reviewed all the communications (3) , agreed that I was not rude or out of order. Told me to give him bad feedback, and that he could not give me bad feedback, and that was all they could do
-
guy is a sore looser that's all.
-
ah well...theres plenty more macs in the sea
-
weh hey!

Well what was said? I usually wait a week if something has not shipped before asking. Most sellers are not Amazon, they have lives. Are you sure its not something you said?
this guy got me worried because he has 10 to 15 items, all vintage machines, ending within 10-15 minutes. I watched them all end, within seconds of each other.
allot of stuff and allot of money
-
got to thinking if a guy was about to retire from ebay he might pull a stunt like that
-
after 2 days I sent him a message asking when he could ship. thinking with all the other sales he would say it would be a while....that's what I was expecting. no answer.2 more day go by still nothing
I send same request.......nothing....then a rant.
-
I have often waited 2 months for stuff from the states to arrive. I honestly don't really care how long it takes to get here.
its just nice to hear a seller reply to you when you have bought an item.
-
ive never had a problem on ebay until today. I have no bad feedback.
-
its just frustrating to see that he has done the same thing to 2 other people and ebay still lets him trade.

his email was in the paypal refund elfen but I couldn't be bothered doing anything else.
-
its just plain lousy that you win an auction fair and square and the seller decides to just pull the plug.
-
has this happened to anyone else?

Yes, it happens more than people think it does. I have not had it happen first hand really. I have had things I paid for not get sent and had to do the long PayPal process of a refund. Back then, partial refunds were normal - not full! Its much better today.
If people REALLY think something is worth X, then they need a reserve. If it starts at $1 prepare for it to sell for $1, that simple.
On a side note, I am selling a Color Classic. But I hate to ship since they break up so easily. And I am looking for more than 66 euro.

hahaha - nice one unity
Before the padlock comes up, I'll add that, as far as I remember, I've had ONE odd experience with an eBay seller who, for some inexplicable reason, refused to ship anything to California (when he saw my address was in CA, he cancelled the sale). It wasn't a big deal, but it was definitely a bit strange.
By the way, shouldn't this be in The Lounge?

Or the Trading Post
I'm gonna ask for clarification, since I don't see how what's been said could specifically identify the seller?
Sounds that we were trying to get the same item, don't have a clue who this guy is.
Nasty behavior.

I have had people not ship an item before. All you can do is file a claim and get your money back then give them bad feedback as a warning to other buyers.
Some newbie sellers don't understand that they will not get their money (from paypal) until after they ship the item and the customer receives it (with tracking).

I'm out AU$700 for a motorised scooter that the seller flat refused to release to me after the sale. There's nothing I can do at this stage to recover it, been through all the steps with eBay and Paypal.
thats sickening Bunsen. You paid through paypal and still no refund..........I thought paypal has all the protection in place for such events. Tell us more!!
-
2 years ago i bought a 512K on ebay from a guy in the states.......paid through paypal......when it arrived i opened the box and it was in bits!!......caseing was shattered. Looks like it was opened and the mac was dropped on a hard surface. The box was perfect no damage of any kind.
-
went through all the usual....but in the end i got the full refund off paypal....to both the seller and myself's delight. I even got to keep the mac........which i got working!
-
I saw recently on ebay that ebay and paypal are parting ways. I wonder is this a result of that

Basically I left it too long.
Sorry to hear that. Same thing happened to me when a local seller used "being out of town on business" as an excuse for putting off the local pickup I'd requested in lieu of shipment of a Radius/KDS LCD. Only $40 or $50 in my case. Thankfully, that's a cheap credit hour in the school of hard knocks.
Such appears to have instigated a "sniping frenzy" recently on PowerCache Accelerators. Since lowball bids with no incremental bidding activity over the course of the auction have become the norm on this kind of listing, I'm guessing a new tactic for instigating bidding wars has been deployed. Dunno the sellers(?) that may have been involved and don't care to do the research. I don't recall the Accelerators and bids involved in the round I noticed, but it could be a new version of shilling type activity.
When a sniper (the ONLY way to do eBay IMO, bidding wars during an auction only benefit the seller and who needs that?) is outbid on the first item ending, The buyers can be drawn into overbidding on the second or third listing set to end within minutes for a similar item.
Almost got drawn into overbidding that time around, no cost credit hour! Such is the only plausible explanation I've come up with for having multiple listings for similar items end in quick succession.
Such sales would also tend to inflate perceived value of items as a side benefit.
If I were of questionable character, that's the way I'd set that kind of thing up to maximize profits . . . just saying. :
