My Macintosh SE/30 Displays a Strange Diagonal Line Pattern
Well, let's keep it short.
A couple of days ago I turned on my beloved SE/30, with a recently recapped motherboard, and instead of a happy Mac and boot sequence I got really strange diagonal lines.
The displayed image is also way too wide, it "leaves" the borders of the screen.
Take a look (the dark-gray bar is my camera's suckiness) for yourself :
The computer itself works perfectly, I can hear the hard drive loading all kinds of things, and even hear Mac OS 7 beeping because I didn't turn the computer properly off last time }
Well guys (and ladies of course !), now it is time for the obvious : how do I fix this ?
I think I changed the internal monitor controls a bit, could that be it ?

I (of course) read that page, but I guess I must have overlooked that paragraph.
The turning of the pots didn't work, so I'll measure the resistors and replace them if needed.
I think I will resolder the whole board, because, in the glimpse that I saw the board, the solder joints aren't as good as they used to be anymore.
The Mac isn't really important, so it can take a while before I go further with it.

No problem. I specialize in repair of these old friends. Although I deal mostly with replacing the capacitors on the logic boards more than dealing with the analog power/video.
