I dunno about IDE, as there are a few existing solutions that are fine:

1) SCSI-IDE converter

2) Ultra Wide drive with a UW nubus card

3) Ultra Wide drive with a 65-50 pin converter

and if you wanted CF you could stick a CF-IDE converter on the SCSI-IDE converter.
