Making an m68060 work in an m68040 system is MUCH more feasible than adapting a Coldfire. The m68060 and m68040 are very similar, but the Coldfire is completely different - clocking, interrupts, booting, voltages, and the whole bus would all need to be adapted. That's why the Atari Coldfire people made a whole new computer.
