Address Book

CommuniGate™ Client Modules (Address Book). Edition 3.1.6 The Client Modules file contains service code for CommuniGate clients such as CommuniGator application and FaxSender printer driver. One (and currently the only) service provided by Client Modules is accessing information in address books. The latest version can be found at: http://www.stalker.com or ftp://ftp.stalker.com Installation Note Make sure that CommuniGate client (CommuniGator) is not running. Place the Client Modules file into the Extensions folder in your System Folder or into a folder with your private books (located in your mail folder). You do not have to restart your computer. Start any CommuniGate client (CommuniGator or FaxSender) — you can use the new Client Modules now. •Note: to work with new CommuniGate Modules you need the newer versions of CommuniGator (2.6 at least), FaxSender (2.5 at least) and CommuniGate Server (2.8.6 at least.) •Note: for compatibility with old Client Modules the CommuniGate Server keeps shared address books in the "{System Folder}:CommuniGate Folder:Address Books". On system start address books from this folder are copied to the new location "{System Folder}:CommuniGate Folder:Server Address Books" and converted to the new format. That's why users of the new Client Modules may face the situation when a deleted shared address book appears once again after the CommuniGate Server restarts. It is recomended to remove folder "{System Folder}:CommuniGate Folder:Address Books" after all local clients have switched to the new Client Modules. Aliases and Groups Note You can create so-called "chain" aliases when an alias points to (is alias to) another alias etc. You'd better avoid such a technique since such "chained" aliases require more memory and time to be resolved. Editing contents of a group is possible with either standard drag-and-drop technique or using "Edit Record" dialog window (invoked by "Edit…" button when a group is selected). In this window two panels show contents of a root of the book being edited (without other groups and aliases to groups) — on the left side, and contents of the group being edited — on the right side. The button "Move" is used to transfer records from/to a group. •Note: after at least one record has been moved from or to a group operation can not be canceled. •Note: There's currently no check that an alias to a record in a private book is stored to a station or a server book.
