AppleLlnk CD - your direct source for information about Apple. AppleLink CD is an information resource product on CD-ROM. It provides regular editions of Apple and third-party product and support information for a single annual subscription fee. Designed to offer the same easy access to information provided by AppleLink, Apple's global electronic communications and information service, each edition of AppleLink CD features the latest versions of many AppleLink libraries and bulletin boards. Product and program information for Apple and third-party companies is included, along with soft- ware upgrades, documentation updates, and product enhancements. You can sample software demos and review new software programs. Now you can buy a subscription to AppleLink CD for a single annual fee. Your one-year subscription will bring you four quarterly updates in either a single-user or a multi-user version. To useAppleLlnk CD, you need: • A Macintosh computer with at least 4 megabytes of RAM • Macintosh system software version 6.0.7 or later • A Macintosh-compatible CD-ROM drive • HyperCard® version 2.1 or later (Version 2.1 is included with AppleLink CD. (Note that localized versions will not work correctly with AppleLink CD.) • For Kanji users, KanjiTalk TM version 6.0.7 or later Important: Regardless of the system software you use, you must allow at least 2 megabytes of memory to run HyperCard. Installation After making sure that your CD-ROM drive is properly installed according to the manual that came with it, install the AppleLink CD Client and, if necessary, the HyperCard software. Follow these steps to install both applications on your hard disk drive: 1. Double-click the Installer or the Installer Script Icon in the Installer Folder. 2. After clicking OK in the Installer Script dialog box, follow the instructions. 3 When the installation is complete, click Quit. HyperCard 2.1 and the AppleLink CD Client are now installed on your hard disk drive. 4. Open the HyperCard 2.1 Folder on your hard disk drive. If you are using System 7, drag the HyperCard Fonts file to your System Folder. If you are using System 6.0.x, install the fonts by using the Font/DA Mover. Important: If HyperCard 2.1 is already installed on your hard disk drive, you don't need to use the Installer; simply drag the AppleLink CD Client stack to your hard disk drive. Then make sure you have 2 megabytes of memory allocated to HyperCard.
