A Quick Start Guide
Getting Started:
Crosswordz opens with a blank Puzzle Preview window and a blank
Puzzle Editor Window (see Figure 1).

To start a new puzzle, simply begin filling in crossword clues and answers
(see Figure 2).

Now press . This will save the clue and allow you to enter a
new clue. Continue entering clues and answers until you are finished.
Generate a Puzzle:
You may make your puzzle at any time by pushing which
is found at the lower right corner of the Puzzle Editor window.
Your puzzle now appears in the Puzzle Preview window (see Figure 3).

Add a Title:
Change the title of the puzzle by clicking on the tab . The Title
editor (see Figure 4) now appears.

Enter a title in the Primary section.
The new title will automatically show up in the Puzzle Preview window.
The font, style, size, and alignment of the title can be changed using the
adjacent controls.
Other header information can be entered into the Secondary section.
Switch to a Word Search:
New in version 2.0! Change the type of the puzzle by clicking on the
tab . The following options (see Figure 5) appear.

Click and then Press again. A word search should
appear (see figure 6) in the Puzzle Preview window.
Print a Puzzle:
To print a puzzle, go to the File Menu and select Print. A print dialog
box will appear (see Figure 7) . In the example below the “Show
Answers” checkbox was checked.

The Print Puzzle (Answer Key) will print a crossword puzzle with the
answers indicated.
Save a Puzzle:
To save a puzzle, go to the File Menu and select Save. Enter the name
of the puzzle and click on the Save button.
Open a Puzzle:
To open a puzzle, go to the File Menu and select Open. Find the puzzle
and click on the Open button.
