Disc Cover
Quick Start Guide
Design and print CD/DVD labels and covers.
Starting a new Design with Assistant
Assistant will help you to select a ready-made design. It comes up when you launch the program.
Choosing a Document Type
(Step 1 of the Assistant)
At the first step you should choose a design for your Disc Cover
document. Your choice will depend on disc's content type: audio,
video, data or other. The selected category will be used at the
Step 2 for import.
Use the drop-down list to get all the templates or a single
template category listed. The selected template will be shown in
the preview.
If the chosen design is available for several items (design
elements) such as disc label, CD case cover or other, you will see
respective icons at the top of the preview. Use the icons to switch
between design elements.
Click Next to move to Step 2.
Importing Disc Contents List
(Step 2 of the Assistant)
The program automatically imports the most appropriate data for the source selected at the Step 1. For "Music" -
the list of iTunes albums, for "Photo" - libraries of iPhoto and so on.
When import data is selected, click Finish.
Editing a Document
Design Elements
You may want to add or remove items from your document. For example, the template from Assistant has a CD
and case cover, but you have two-disc photo album and want to add the second CD to the document. For this,
use tools for working with design elements.
Selecting and Moving Objects
Click on an object to select it and drag the mouse to move it around. Hold the Shift key down to select more than
one object. The selected object has a border with handles on its corners and sides. Drag them to resize the
object. To duplicate the selected objects, press Cmd+D. To delete it, press Del. You can change the properties of
the selected objects in the Inspector window.
Pictures
You can add images to your document. A collection of images comes with the program. An image can be added
from embedded Clipart, iPhoto collection or from a file on your disk. Or you can search and download a picture
from the Internet - use "Insert/Image/Search on the Internet" from the program menu. In the Inspector you can
change the selected picture properties - apply a mask, change opacity, rotate or tint it. You can also crop the
image to remove the parts you don't like - choose the Crop Image command from the Format/Image/Edit Image
menu and select the crop area in the resulting dialog.
