INTRODUCTION
Exotic Japan is an interactive introduction to the culture and
language of Japan. The program comes on a CD-ROM disc
that contains the program software and sound files.
HARDWARE AND SOF PEWARE -REQUIREMENTS
e A Macintosh (Classic, Plus, Portable, LC, SE or II
series) with hard disk drive
e A Macintosh-compatible CD-ROM drive
e Headphones or speakers connected to the CD-ROM
drive
e CD-ROM drivers installed in your System folder
e Macintosh system software version 6.0.5 or higher
e HyperCard software version 2.1 (included on the
Exotic Japan CD)
e If you want to-record the practice phrases, one of the
following sound input devices connected to your
Macintosh:
Built-in Macintosh microphone
MacRecorder from Farallon
Voice Link or Voice Navigator from Articulate
Systems

Before installing the software, make sure all your hardware is
connected and your system is properly configured.
CONFIGURING YOUR SYSTEM
_ @ Ifyou haven't already done so, install CD-ROM drivers
in your System folder. These files should be on the CD
Setup diskette that came with your CD-ROM drive. |
Contact the seller or manufacturer of your CD-ROM
drive if you do not have the following three files:
Audio CD Access
Foreign File Access
The INIT file for your CD-ROM drive
(for example, “Apple CD-ROM").
Restart your Macintosh to ensure that your system
recognizes your CD-ROM drive.
If you have a color monitor, use the Control Panel to
set your monitor to black and white. The animations
