About HanMac Word-J Overview HanMac Word-J is a full featured Macintosh wordprocessor application to handle Japanese and English text, developed and distributed by HanMac Software, Inc. as a shareware. The licensee fee is US$35.00 for each copy. Followings are the abstract of HanMac Word-J features: • Unit precision in 1/1000 of point, cm, mm, inch, and Q • Multiple non-contiguous text selection • Powerful find/replace • Style-based paragraph formatting • Multiple columns with variable width • Multiple sections with independent page number and header/footer • User definable footnote mark and position • Support text, picture, graphic, memo, and table frames • Graphic tools available • Support post-it like memo • Easy and powerful table handling • Save file optionally in compressed format • Link document files to make a book and create TOC • Drag & Drop within a document, between documents, from/to desktop • Palettes: tool, style, character format, shortcut, symbol, table • Support libraries to save text, picture, graphic, text frame, or table • Document database to view or search documents • HTML document conversion with preview • Internet mail using Eudora • Help: menu command help, balloon help, dialog help System Requirements • Any Macintosh computer - HanMac Word is provided in FAT Binary format • System 7.1 or later • 2.5M bytes of application memory • QuickTime Manager • Drag & Drop Manager • Claris XTND system • Japanese Language Kit to process Japanese text File Conversion You can convert files created with other wordprocessors through Claris XTND system which is installed automatically along with HanMac Word-J. But it is your responsibility to get and install each individual XTND filter program for the file type you want to convert. HanMac Word-J Help HanMac Word-J is provided without any manual at the moment, but you can get help in many -1- ways to catch how to use HanMac Word-J commands. 1) The Help command in the Apple menu provides descriptions of all menu commands. 2) The balloon help provides description of each icon on the document window and palettes. 3) When you click the "?" mark on a dialog box, it expands at the bottom and you will see the description of an item pointed by the mouse as you move it around. When you click the "?" again, the help box disappears. Registering HanMac Word-J You can try HanMac Word-J without registration but please be aware that it has following restrictions until you register: 1) You are not allowed to use it in Japan. 2) You will have a five-second delay to start the program. 3) When you print a document, a registration notice appears at the top of each page. 4) You can use it for no more than 90 days. To register, launch Register program, fill ordering information, and save to a disk file and send it by email to following address.
