OCR / Text contents
To reference some other spot in webspace, you need to place what's
called an anchor in your text. There are three parts to an anchor.
The first part establishes the address or URL
| The second part appears in blue for the reader to click on
| |
| |
| |
| |
<A HREF="http://www.whitehouse.gov">The White House Web</A> is cool.
|
The third part specifies the end of the anchor.
This would appear on the screen like this:
The White House Web is cool.
That's basically it!
Using this technique, you can reference web pages, gopher sites, and
files available by anonymous ftp.
Some more examples:
<A HREF="gopher://gopher.sdsu.edu/Mac/Eudora1.5Docs">Eudora
Documentation</A> can be grabbed from the SDSU gopher.
And <A HREF="ftp://ftp.apple.com/Mac/comm/HomeMaker">HomeMaker</A> is
available on the Apple ftp server. (not really)
Eudora Documentation can be grabbed from the SDSU gopher.
And HomeMaker is available on the Apple ftp server.
Don't forget to terminate your anchors with a </A>. Otherwise,
everything to the end of your document will turn blue.
