Smithsonian's America Version 1.1 for Macintosh Thank you for purchasing "Smithsonian's America" • Before running "Smithsonian's America" please read the license agreement that can be found by opening the "Copyright and License" file on the root of this CD-ROM. By using the software, you are agreeing to be bound by the terms of that license. If you do not agree to the terms of that license, promptly return the unused software to the place where you obtained it and your money will be refunded. • RAM requirements: "Smithsonian's America" requires 3.5 Megabytes of free RAM to run. — System 7.0.x, on the average, uses 2 Megabytes of RAM. This means you have to have a computer with at least 5.5 Megabytes of total RAM to run this product. — System 6.0.x, uses approximately 750 K. This means that you need about 4.5 Megabytes to run this product under System 6.0.x • Increasing Performance: These measures will help if "Smithsonian's America" is playing slowly or if you are experiencing problems with playback of QuickTime movies. — Turn off any "screen savers" which could slow down your Macintosh. — If your Macintosh is on a network, log off of the network. - Remove any non-Apple Control Panels and Extensions. — System 7.0 only: You may be able to increase the amount of available RAM by reducing the size of the Disk Cache, which is always turned on. Here's how: a) Open the "Memory" Control Panel. b) Set the disk cache to its minimum size. c) Restart your Macintosh. Turn off Virtual Memory.
