INSTALLATION FOR WINDOWS*95 USERS: i Place the Ency98 Home Disk into your CD-ROM drive. 2. If you have Autolnstall turned off: From the Start menu, select “Run...” TypeD:\SETUP.EXE (D: or whatever letter your CD- ROM drive is), click “OK.” This will start the installation routine. Follow the onscreen instructions. INSTALLATION FOR MACINTOSH® USERS: 1. Insert the Star Trek® Encyclopedia Ency98 Home Disk into your CD-ROM drive. 2. Find the folder called “Star Trek Encyclopedia” and drag it to your hard drive. 3. To launch the program, open the “Star Trek Encyclopedia” folder on your hard drive, then double-click on the file called “Ency98 Player.” If you would like to place the player in a more convenient location, you can make an Alias for it. Select the Player icon on your hard drive by clicking on it only once. Type [command]+m (or find “create alias” on your File menu). This creates a new icon which you can drag and place anywhere on your desktop. QuickTime: From the Ency98 Home Disk CD-ROM, go into the “For your System” folder and launch the QuickTime 2.5 Installer and reboot your computer. If the system reminds you that your version of QuickTime is in use, you must first drag the old version of QT to the trash. Then, follow this step again. For important details, please also consult the README.TXT file located inside the “Ency98” directory (Windows95) or the Star Trek Encyclopedia folder (Macintosh). Also at that location is a file of tips and hints called USING.TXT which elucidate the Encyclopedia’s many features and functions. If you are experiencing difficulty with either installation or with the CD-ROM itself and have gone through the whole README.TXT and still can't find an answer, please visit our website: http://www.ssinteractive.com or call 303-739-4020. You can also directly email your question to: support@ssi.teksupport.com. …
