iTunes for OS 9 needs a hack in order to run on any machine that doesn't have built-in USB. It's a completely artificial limitation. If you apply the hack, it will work on that system; although you may need to turn off virtual memory, and have a really slimmed down set of extensions to get smooth playback on that processor.
