The stands are just weak - I would avoid adjusting it unless absolutely necessary, although I have heard that some of the later revisions were stronger than the original that I have. However, one of my stands still works and has spent 8 years in an office being pushed up and down by people who didn't own it, so I guess it's just luck whether it lasts or not
Yes, the original is a lovely translucent dark blue - they must have looked so revolutionary back in '98
Heck, they still look great now, even though everyone has flat screens now - back then I don't think I'd even seen a flat screen!
