The power considerations are real. I run two websites on a 9600 <http://ppcmla.dyndns.org/> and a 9500 <http://ppcmla.dyndns.org:81/forum/> out of my basement. The electric bill for the two of them is pretty ugly. That was a big factor in my decison to move to the new domain with a dedicated webhost.
While there is a certain amount of caché to be had in running a website out of your own house, it often just isn't practical. I'm glad to see you haven't lost your online presence, though!
